Swimmers must be at least 5 years old and able to participate in a small lesson group. Floatation devices from home are not allowed and parents ARE NOT permitted in the instructional area. Parents are allowed to watch from the spectator area. During lessons, a swimmer will progress through five stations developing their knowledge of the sport.
Lesson groups typically meet 2 times a week for 45 minutes during a 4-week period. Each swimmer will receive 8 lessons per section. Lessons typically begin in Station 1 for new swimmers building water comfort and are progressive. Swimmers accomplish goals such as floating and submerging your face, head-first entries, kicking for distance, wall turns, and swimming freestyle & backstroke. Each section is $80. After swimmers complete Station 5 (pre-competitive) they can swim 25 yards Freestyle and Backstroke. These swimmers are encouraged to join stroke school (competitive) which is an extension of lessons where advanced swimmers learn Breaststroke and Butterfly, how to swim an Individual Medley and will continue to refine skills while building endurance.
Lesson tuition is $80/person per section.
